Code of care expected from customers using this directory

  • Respect each other’s dignity, consent and privacy as this is essential to a healthy, trusting community.
  • Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behaviour and language.
  • Set out detailed, clear briefs for all projects. Do your homework and ask for references. For substantial projects, ask for a detailed, written quote with start and finish times and agreed payment terms. This offers you protection if anything does go wrong. Ask about the tradesperson's licence and liability insurance. If you don't understand something, just ask!
  • Provide a safe work area for everyone when work is being carried out in your home or business, and ask ahead about what the tradesperson might need such as handy parking and access to power and water, and use of a toilet.
  • Respect the knowledge and skill set of tradespeople and be proactive if a problem has arisen. It's easier to find solutions together.
  • Provide prompt payment for all services.

Unacceptable behaviour from tradespeople, customers or those using this website will not be tolerated.
